Human Vegetable

 

 

 

앞뜰 봉숭아가 고민하다

붉은 꽃을 피우던가

Is it that a balsam in the front garden

Blooms in red with worry? Isn’t it?

 

 

뒷뜰 대추나무가 방황하다

탐스런 열매를 맺던가

Is it also that a jujube tree in the back yard

Bears attractive fruits with hesitation? Isn’t it?

 

 

뇌 없는 꽃아

뇌 없는 나무야

고민 없어 좋겠다

방황하지 않아 좋겠다

You flowers of no brain!

You trees of no brain!

How lucky you no worry!

How lucky you no wandering!

 

 

세상이 복잡한 만큼

이 세상을 뚫고 가야 하는

이 머릿속 복잡한 뇌는

As the world is complicated,

So the brain running intricate in the skull

To figure out a way out of this world

 

 

하루에도 울었다 웃었다

수 없이 반복하다

집으로 이 몸 끌고 와 쉰다

Makes me cry and laugh from time to time

Day in and day out

Drags this body back to my adobe of rest:

 

 

이 몸이 움직이는 한

끝 없이 고민하고 방황하는 뇌

The brain worrying and wandering over and over

As long as this body can move,

 

 

그래서 붙여진 이름인가

고민이 없는 인간

방황하지 않는 인간

So is called?

Human with no worry

Human of no wandering

 

 

식물인간

Thus put:

Human Vegetable!
