#1: Wish: *형태에 따라 의미가 다른 wish.
1. wish 주어 + 동사: 주로 ~할텐데, ~하면 좋을텐데, ~했을텐데로 해석
    *조건 1) 우리가 원하는 상황이지만 현재 상황과 반대되는 상황일 때. (Opposite of the current reality)
        2) 아쉬움을 표현할 때 
2. wish 명사 (~= hope)
3. wish to (~= want to)

<일상에서 가장 자주 쓰이는 wish의 기본 틀 3가지>
#1-1: wish 주어 + 동사: ~할텐데, ~하면 좋을텐데, ~했을텐데로 해석
    I wish today were Friday = I wish it were Friday.
    * wish를 쓴 이유: - 오늘이 금요일이 아니기 때문에(opposite of the current reality)
                   - 금요일이 아니기에 아쉬움.
    
    I wish every day was Sunday.
    I wish you were here. 네가 여기 있다면 좋을텐데.
    *친한 사이에서 보고 싶다는 뉘앙스로도 쓸 수 있지만 도와줄 수 있는 상대가 없을 때 아쉬움을 표현하며 씀
    (I) miss you, and I wish you were here.
    
    I wish things were different.
    <wish 주어 + 동사를 쓴 이유>
    1) 상황이 지금과 다르길 바라지만(opposite of the current reality)
    2) 결국 다르지 않은 것에 대한 아쉬움
    
    A: Could you help me (out) with something?
    B: I wish I could but I can't
    
    So, help us out.
    Wish I could, but I can't

#1-2: wish + 명사(== hope와 비슷함)
    We wish you a merry Christmas = We hope you have a merry Christmas.
    Wish me luck(잘 되길 바래줘). == Please hope that I have good luck.
    
    I called to wish you luck at the conference. 컨퍼런스 잘하고 오라고 바라주기 위해서 전화했어.
    
    Good luck with Elizabeth Vargas, not that you need it. *with ~에 있어서.
    And, Ana, good luck, not that you need it. 너가 필요하진 않겠지만, 행운을 빌어. (굳이 행운을 빌어주지 않아도 너가 알아서 잘 하겠지만, 그래도 행운을 빌어줄게)

    *진짜 진심으로 간절히 바랄 때도 쓰지만 앞으로 딱히 볼 일이 없는 사이에서 예의상 인사차 쓰기도 하는 wish + 명사

    I wish you the best. 앞으로 좋은 일만 있으시길 바랍니다.
    I wish you the very best.
    And I wish you the very best of luck. Thank you.

#1-3: 'wish to + 동사원형' : want와 비슷한 의미로 격식을 차린 상황에서 자주 써요. 
    There are things I wish to say. (== There are things I want to say)
    
    I don't wish to discuss it further.
    I simply don't wish to discuss it further.
    
    Exactly, what happened?

    *literally: 말그대로, 그야말로, 정말로

    1. I wish I hadn't worked so hard. 그렇게 일만 하며 살지 않았더라면 좋았을 텐데.
