*discuss about something은 redundant (불필요한)
Testbook: To discuss something means to 'talk about' it. (talk about == discuss)
The preposition 'about' after 'discuss' is actually a redundancy developed colloquially.
Grammatically 'discuss' is a transitive verb(타동사) and hence always takes an object.
Thus, 'about' is not required.
